What is YOGA?

Yoga means to join, unite Or merge. Yoga is a science also an art.

Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha.

Yoga is silencing of Whirlpool(Waves) of minds(Sea/Lake).

Idea of yoga, Patanjali get it from seeing Aadiyogi (The Source Of Yoga).

The practice of yoga integrate the body with the mind and the mind with the soul, thereby helping us to understand out on nature live harmoniously  with our fellow men.

The Asanas and Pranayama.

And these 8 pillars arranged in ascending order of power, knowledge and awareness ;  from outside world( Yama, The  Universal commandments)  to inside within(Samadhi).

-Lord Sri Krishna,  in Bhagavad Gita describes the true meaning of Sage..

One whose mind remains undisturbed amidst misery, who does not crave for pleasure, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady wisdom.

Chapter 2, Verse 48

BG 2.48: Be steadfast in the performance of your duty, O Arjun, abandoning attachment to success and failure. Such equanimity is called Yog.

                      SIX YOGIC KRIYAS

                      (SHAT KARMAS)

These yogic kriyas are the purification processes of the body by yogic methods. They are very important in yoga. Union of body with mind , union of mind with soul and union of soul with God is yoga. Kriyas are to be practiced early in morning on empty stomach. Kriyas must be finished before starting the asanas or Pranayama.

These kriyas consists of six purification practices-

1) Dhauti (kunjal)

2) Basti 

3) Neti

4) Tratak 

5) Nauli

6) Kapalbhati
